With the white grapes (including Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Vermentino), and the Grenaches and Syrahs destined for rosés all safely gathered in, harvesting is slowly coming to an end here in the Duché d’Uzès appellation. Only the last of the red varieties – Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan – remain to be picked.
Good weather and excellent grape ripeness have made this year’s harvest one of our most promising ever.
Domaine St Firmin invited us to have a look back in pictures at their night-time white grape harvests, and Maison Blanc Senthille show us what manual harvesting looked like on their estate this year.
