On Monday 29th November, French sommeliers’ association Union de la Sommellerie Française held their General Meeting in Nîmes’ Musée de la Romanité, with almost 140 sommeliers in attendance.
Duché d’Uzès AOC marked the occasion by hosting a tasting of 40 of their wines, including a representative cross-section of whites, reds and rosés matured both in tanks and barrels as well as a number of older vintages – an excellent way to present the appellation wines in all their complexity and potential.
Philippe Faure-Brac and Serge Dubs – both past winners of the World’s Best Sommelier competition – were present, along with a number of Best Sommeliers in France and Best Craftsman in France (MOF) laureates including Romain Iltis and David Biraud.
