As truffle season approaches, learn which wines pair best with your favourite truffle dishes.
On the programme:
The evening opens with a meeting of the Duché d’Uzès Compagnie Bachique. 21 winemakers are lined up to attend, each with a selection of their best Duché d’Uzès AOP wines paired with bite-size truffle delicacies. Visit each winemaker – and buffet – in turn to see what they have to offer! Enjoy a panoply of flavours based around Duché d’Uzès wines and the famous black diamond, tuber melanosporum.
On entry to the event you will be given a ticket, exchangeable for an appetiser plate complete with 5 bite-size truffle appetisers and a holder for your wine glass. So relax, and let the tasting begin!
It’s clear that there’s no better wine to pair with truffles than Duché d’Uzès white; nothing brings out their flavours in quite the same way. The complexity of the blend (Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Vermentino) and its intensity of flavour is the perfect foil for tuber melanosporum. Together they’re rich and succulent, a delight for the taste buds.
But don’t dismiss Duché d’Uzès reds; try them with mini chicken roulades stuffed with truffles, truffle cannelés, or feuilletés of truffled goat’s cheese mousse: the flavours work beautifully together.
And for the foodies out there – don’t miss our cold meats and shellfish workshops, guaranteed to give you even more perfect pairing ideas!
